sleep medicine
A clinic or medical office specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, or management of sleep disorders.
A sleep medicine office is a clinic, doctor's office, or other space where medical professionals diagnose, treat, or counsel patients experiencing any of various sleep ailments and disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disruptions.
The specialty covers difficulty sleeping, abnormal sleepiness, and other disturbances of sleep or its timing. The named conditions are examples rather than an exhaustive list.
Diagnosis, treatment, and counseling all belong to the clinical use. A room intended simply for ordinary sleep has a different function.
