liquid storage tank
A container for storing liquids, including manufactured vessels and artificial reservoirs called tanks.
A liquid storage tank is a container used for holding liquids. The term can be used for reservoirs (artificial lakes and ponds), and for manufactured containers. Use of tank for a pond or reservoir is regional.
Manufactured tanks hold liquids within a constructed container. The stored material can be water or another liquid; the term describes the container and its storage function.
An artificial lake or pond can also be called a tank when it serves as a reservoir. In that usage, the enclosing basin provides the storage space without being a separately manufactured vessel.
