Window frames made from polyvinyl chloride, including uPVC.

Vinyl or PVC is the a common material for window frames. It is relatively inexpensive, is durable, and requires little maintenance. It is also an excellent insulator, with very low thermal conductivity. However the material is toxic when it burns. It also has generally the lowest recycled content of any major window frame material.

Many vinyl window frames are reinforced with metal for added strength.
