acupuncture clinic
A center where patients are treated for pain or ailments by placing needles at specific points on the body.
An acupuncture clinic is an alternative medicine clinic, rooted in Chinese medical traditions, where specialists treat pain and other ailments by placing needles along various specific pathways (or "meridians") on the body's surface.
The treatment involves inserting needles at selected points on the body. Meridians belong to the traditional explanation of the practice rather than being ordinary anatomical vessels.
The clinic is identified by its acupuncture practice. It differs from a general massage service or a clinic using only medicines, even when the intended complaints overlap.
