Retail and service companies are businesses which provide direct on-site customer services. In certain cases these overlap with other industry segments, but the roles in this category are very different; for example, a bank may serve as a financial company when it finances the construction of a structure, but it performs as a kind of retail provider in buildings where it has public branches.
The connection concerns the company's activity at the identified premises. Operating a customer branch is a separate relationship from lending money for construction.
Specific operator roles can also include a franchise brand where their definitions allow it. A brand and the local managing business can consequently have separate connections to one facility.
