bakery

A retail shop or cafe-type eatery primarily selling fresh bread or pastries, baked on site or supplied from elsewhere.

A bakery is a store or café-type eatery specializing in the sale of freshly baked breads and/or pastries, including rolls, loaves, buns, muffins, cookies, cakes, croissants, etc. It may also serve drinks or other foods as a secondary option, but does not qualify as a bakery if the baked goods are not the primary offering.

Bakeries may either include baking facilities on the premises, or may receive shipment from an off-site industrial bakery. Industrial bakeries should not be listed however under this usage unless they include a retail component. Bakeries may include seating for customers to consume goods inside.

Baked goods must remain the primary offering; drinks and other foods can be secondary. An industrial bakery without a retail component is excluded even though it produces the goods sold by these shops.
