granite
A floor made from cut natural granite in tiles, pavers, blocks, or slabs, with polishing optional.
A granite floor is made of tiles, pavers, blocks, slabs, or other forms of cut granite, a natural igneous rock with a visible grain. Granite floors are usually polished, although not necessarily so.
Granite is a common flooring material for public spaces and high-class buildings, such as offices, shopping malls, and hotels. It is commonly used in lobbies and major interior pathways. It is not uncommon in residential kitchens and bathrooms, and is occasionally used for living spaces.
The floor material is the cut natural stone. Its use in a home remains included alongside the more common public-space examples, and a rough finish remains granite flooring.
