A physical therapy office or clinic is a place specializing in medical or other professional treatment of injured, convalescing, or disabled patients in order to improve their mobility and ability to move their limbs and bodies in a functional way.
While physical therapy is a component of rehabilitation centers, it is generally less comprehensive, more broadly applied, and more focused on physical movement and exercise. It does not necessarily require medical staff.
The treatment focuses on mobility and functional movement. It can serve people recovering from injury or illness as well as people with lasting disabilities, without requiring the broader range of services found at a rehabilitation center.
