ramped floor

A ramped floor is an above-ground floor level which slopes over a majority of its surface, and which forms a gradual connection to other floor levels. This does not count ramp surfaces which occupy a small portion of a floorplate. These are most common in parking garages. Ramped floors below ground count as regular basement floors.

The slope occupies a majority of the floor surface and connects gradually to another level. A small connecting ramp beside an otherwise level floor does not make the whole floor ramped.

The type applies above ground. An underground sloping level of regular height is counted as a basement instead.
