A processing plant is an industrial site where materials, commodities, or products are reconditioned. Processes may include mixing, packaging, transforming, or changing the original material in any way without the result of fully fabricating new objects.
The operation works on existing materials or commodities. It can change their condition, composition, or packaging as part of preparing them for further use.
Storage alone leaves goods held for later use without that processing step. Full fabrication of new objects belongs to the separate factory scope described in the manufacturing definitions.
