structural wind resistance

The maximum wind speed a built object can withstand without damage to its structural integrity.

The structural wind resistance of any built object is the maximum wind speed (in kilometers per hour or miles per hour) which it can survive without suffering damage that compromises structural integrity.

The threshold concerns damage that compromises the supporting structure. It does not mean that every finish, service, or normal activity remains unaffected at that wind speed.

Operational wind resistance describes the point at which use must stop or occupants must leave. An object can require closure before its structure reaches its resistance limit.
