Electric heaters that warm surrounding air and create circulation through the density difference between warm and cool air.
Electric convection heating is a form of electric heating which creates an air current by heating the surrounding air and relying on the different densities of warmer and cooler air. Convector heaters may use oil-filled tubes, metal rods, or other parts which heat up when a current is passed through them or near them.
The air current develops as warmed air rises and cooler air moves into its place. This is the convective heat-distribution principle.
Oil-filled tubes, rods, and other heated components are possible forms. The designation does not require one particular internal shape or filling.
