elevator testing tower
A structure built to test the performance of one or more elevators over an extensive height.
An elevator testing tower is a tall structure built to hold one or more elevators or elevator prototypes, providing ample height to judge their performance across a long distance.
The tower provides a long vertical travel path for testing. It can contain a single elevator or several different systems and prototypes.
Testing is the primary reason for the height and internal arrangement. An elevator installed only to serve the occupied floors of another tower has a different purpose.
