fortune-telling
A place where customers consult diviners about purported mystical information, future events, or personal matters.
Fortune-telling is the practice of predicting or intuiting mystical information, such as future events or personal advice. As a usage it mainly occurs in retail-like spaces, special suites, or carnival sideshows. The mystical powers invoked by a fortune-teller may be psychic (the fortune-teller's claimed innate powers) or based on mystical arts such as astrology, palm reading, tarot cards, oneiromancy, or any of various other methods or combinations thereof.
The service can use tarot cards, astrology, palm reading, or other methods named above. No single method is required.
The use concerns the divination service offered at the premises. It does not establish that the claimed powers or predictions are reliable.
