self-storage
Space for keeping personal property that is worth retaining but not needed at hand, outside the goods-distribution cycle.
Self-storage facilities are places for keeping any personal property which is considered worth keeping but need not be kept at hand.
This usage includes self-storage centers as well as private sheds. Subsidiary storage space within regular usages (such as attics, basements, closets, and storage rooms) can be assigned this as an internal usage.
Storage facilities are distinguished from warehouses in that they do not belong to the distribution cycle of goods. Items stored there are normally kept indefinitely or for purposes of convenience.
