running track

A designated athletic running or jogging path, distinct from hiking trails and multipurpose pathways.

A running track is a loop or a linear path designed and designated for athletic running or jogging. Normally such tracks have special soft surfaces and are divided into lanes, but this is not a requirement.

Most such tracks are of standard length in order to allow time comparisons for runners. In order to be listed for a building, the track should be available to users of the building and present inside the structure or on the building's grounds.

Hiking trails and multi-purpose pathways do not count as running tracks.
