A rock and roll club is a nightclub, lounge, bar, or similar venue which specializes in featuring live performances of rock music, usually with some combination of singers, guitarists, drummers, and bassists. Customers generally come to drink, hear music, socialize, and possibly to eat or dance.

Live rock performances are the specialization. The customary combination of musicians is not a fixed requirement for every performance.

Food, drinks, or dancing can accompany the music. These additional activities do not replace the live-rock focus of the venue.
