wood oven

A building heating system burning wood in enclosed chambers, either centrally or in separate floors or units.

A wood oven heating system indicates that heat is generated throughout a building using one or multiple chambers which burn wood and distribute the heat from the fire. This can imply either a central oven serving much of the building, or separate wood ovens in individual floors or units. It is distinguished from a fireplace, where the fire from burning wood is openly exposed to the heated space.

One oven can serve much of the building, or several ovens can heat separate areas. A single central installation is not required.

The enclosed combustion chamber distinguishes the system from a fireplace, whose wood fire is openly exposed to the heated space.
