ÖGNI Certificate

The Austrian Sustainable Building Council certifies buildings using the DGNB system adapted to Austrian conditions, retaining the shared assessment framework and award levels while applying the relevant Austrian requirements.

A building certified in Austria therefore carries an Austrian certificate against essentially the German standard, which is why the two appear side by side in international comparisons.

The assessment combines environmental performance with economic and sociocultural quality. Its level reflects the applicable overall score and minimum requirements, rather than a single measure such as energy use.
