helipad

A usable platform designated for helicopter takeoff and landing, on or directly associated with a structure.

A helipad is any usable platform designated for the take-off and landing of helicopters. It can be listed as a building amenity when it is either on the structure itself, or so close that it is directly associated with that structure.

Sites used heavily and regularly for helicopter traffic may be called heliports, but this does not apply to every building or place with a helipad on it.

For a building, the platform can be on the structure or close enough to have a direct association with it. A usable landing platform does not by itself imply the heavy, regular traffic associated with a heliport.
