Titanium is a strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant metal with a light silvery color. It is a chemical element (Ti, element 22 on the Periodic Table), and although it is fairly common in the Earth's crust, pure titanium is expensive as a facade material and is therefore used mainly in buildings with a high profile.
Titanium is the facade metal itself, rather than a color applied to another material. Its chemical symbol is Ti.
Its light weight and corrosion resistance distinguish it among metal facade materials. High cost can limit its use without restricting the definition to a particular building class.
