DGNB
The German Sustainable Building Council's certification of building sustainability, with levels based on fulfillment.
The DGNB certificate is issued by the German Sustainable Building Council. It weights economic and sociocultural quality alongside environmental quality, so a building is rated on its life cycle cost as well as its emissions.
Current building-certification levels are Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, decided by the applicable degree of fulfillment and minimum requirements. Earlier certificates used a different naming system that included Certified. This value records a certificate whose level is unknown.
Under the current building-certification naming system, Bronze is available for existing buildings and buildings in use, not for new construction.
