water distribution
A site used in the distribution of water between its natural source and points of use.
A water distribution site is any structure utilized in the transport of water between its extraction point and the buildings or places where it is consumed. This includes any parts of the pipe system distributing water throughout a locality, as well as pumping and routing stations within the network.
The transporting structure can be part of the pipe network or a distinct pumping or routing station. It need not constitute the whole local water system.
Water collection concerns taking water from its natural source. Distribution carries the water onward from that extraction point.
