Attributes are various fields assigned to objects which describe them and convey information about them.
An attribute describes an aspect of the object rather than constituting the object itself. A use, measured dimension, or relationship can each supply such information.
Metadata describes or supports the data. Attributes instead concern the subject described by those data values.
