end date

The point in time when a data value ceases to describe a valid condition in the real world.

The end date for any data is the point in time when that data becomes no longer valid in the real world. It is naturally paired with the start date, which reflects the beginning of that same data's validity.

The date marks the end of real-world validity. It is distinct from when the value was entered into a database or later corrected.

Together with the start date, it bounds the period for which the value applies. A past value can remain historically valid for that period after it stops describing the present.
