sledding
A designated site for sliding on sleds or toboggans, using natural slopes, artificial hills, or constructed chutes.
A sledding area is a place, usually featuring a smooth sloping surface, which is designated for people to slide down using sleds, toboggans, or similar equipment for sport or recreation. The sledding surface can be natural ground, an artificial hill, or a wooden or plastic chute or trough. Natural sledding surfaces are usually designed for winter sledding when the ground is covered with snow.
A natural hill is one possible setting. Artificial hills and wooden or plastic chutes or troughs are also expressly included.
Snow cover is usual for natural winter sledding surfaces. The broader inclusion of constructed sliding surfaces prevents a snow-only restriction on every sledding facility.
