entrance fee (pet)

The admission charge for a pet, guidance animal, or other animal entering a usage zone.

A pet's admission fee is the amount of money charged for a pet, guidance animal, or other animal to enter a usage zone. Very often this is specified as the admission fee for dogs, as a dog is by far the most likely animal to accompany a person into an area charging admission fees.

An admission fee is quoted in a currency and applies to a particular time. A later price change does not alter the amount that applied earlier.

Eligibility can be set by venue policy or applicable law. Where a museum ends its child rate at 12 and another at 18, both are recorded as the child fee, so two values in the same field can describe different groups of people.

A reduced fee that requires proof, such as a student card or a disability card, is still the fee for that category. Whether a visitor can produce the proof is not part of what this field records.

Applicable law can require assistance animals to be admitted without an animal surcharge. A pet fee does not by itself establish a charge for an assistance animal.
