bamboo
Flooring formed from strips of bamboo, a rigid grass with woody stems, joined in a manner similar to wood planks.
Bamboo flooring is similar to wood plank flooring, except that it uses strips of bamboo, a member of the grass family with thick woody stems.
The strips are made from the bamboo plant itself. Its botanical classification as a grass does not exclude it from this flooring family, which expressly includes rigid grasses alongside tree wood.
A printed bamboo pattern on laminate does not by itself make the material bamboo flooring. Actual bamboo strips distinguish this material from a surface that only reproduces its appearance.
