Collapsible seating is any kind of permanently installed seating fixture, such as bleachers, which can be folded down when not needed or erected easily to increase seating capacity. Seating in the form of loose furniture does not count as collapsible seating: it must be affixed to the structure. This is a common feature of sports and entertainment venues.

The seating remains attached to the structure while changing between its usable and folded or stowed positions. A telescoping bank of bleachers is one arrangement; folding fixtures do not have to use a telescoping mechanism.

Loose folding chairs and stackable chairs are movable furniture, even when stored at the venue. The distinction is the permanent attachment and capacity to fold or stow. Fixed seats without that capacity are a different kind of installation.
