cricket

Cricket is a team sport played on an oval field centered around a 22-yard (20.12 meter) pitch, where a bowler delivers a ball to a batter at the other end. The playing area surrounds the central pitch, with its outer boundary established before the match.
Two teams of 11 players each attempt to score more runs than the other, by attempting to bat the ball with a flat stick and running the length of the pitch while the ball is in play.
The central pitch and wickets distinguish the ground from a baseball diamond. Batters run between the ends of the pitch rather than around a sequence of bases, and the surrounding field gives fielders room to retrieve the struck ball.
