law office

Commercial or private office space devoted exclusively to one or more legal practices.

A law office is a commercial or private office space used exclusively for housing one or more law practices. Since large law firms usually occupy generic commercial office spaces interchangeable with other tenants, this usage is generally applied to places that hold small law practices. It can be in a storefront, house, small office building, or other type of structure.

The space is identified specifically with legal practice. A storefront or converted house can qualify without having the form of a conventional office building.

Small practices commonly occupy such dedicated premises, but the definition does not impose a firm-size limit. Generic commercial offices interchangeable among tenants are ordinarily recorded as commercial office space.
