no foundation

An object designed to rest directly on the ground through its own cohesive construction, without a built foundation.

A built object has no foundations when it is designed to rest on the ground, supported by its own cohesive construction. This applies commonly to temporary constructions.

The object supports itself while resting on the ground. This describes the intended support arrangement, not simply a foundation that has not yet been built.

Temporary constructions are common examples without being the only ones. Freely floating objects have a separate support condition.
