land-line phone transmission

Land-line telephone signal transmission sites are locations where telephone wires (usually copper or fiber optic cables) are connected to each other and where signals are routed in various directions.

The site joins wired paths and routes telephone signals between them. Copper conductors and optical fibers are both included.

The telephone-network function distinguishes the site from an ordinary room containing telephones. Wireless relay between antennas is a different form of transmission.
