A single-tenant design is an arrangement or design of space in a building that allows for only a single occupying tenant. This means that the usable space does not have provision for shared use, and is not intended to be divided among multiple leases, owners, or rental agreements.

The layout provides for one occupying tenant. It lacks the shared-use provisions needed to divide the space among independent leases or owners.

The design is distinct from the number of tenants present at a particular time. An empty single-tenant space still has the same intended arrangement.
