A commercial heliport is a site designated for boarding, loading, take-offs, and landings of helicopters for chartered or other commercial use. It may feature the availability of helicopters for hire, staffed with pilots.

Charter flights are one form of commercial use. A site can also support other helicopter business operations within this usage.

Helicopters with pilots available for hire are a possible service. That on-site rental arrangement is not required for a commercial heliport.
