The category of blue colors covers all shades whose dominant hue is closer to blue than to any other basic color. It includes light and dark blues of any brightness or saturation, as well as mixtures of blues with other colors where the overall result is mainly blue.

Pale and very dark shades remain in the blue family when blue is the dominant hue. Brightness alone does not separate powder from navy at this broad level.

Mixtures are included when their overall appearance remains mainly blue. The family does not require a pure blue without any green or purple contribution.
