A building plan with two roughly linear segments meeting at one point, or a simple shape with a notch of at least 45 degrees.

An open angle is any shape formed by two bars or roughly linear segments meeting each other at one point, forming a bent line. It can form a right angle, acute angle, or obtuse angle.

Open angles can be formed by inserting a notch of at least 45° in any polygonal or simple rounded shape.

The two segments make one main angular bend, which can be acute, right-angled, or obtuse. A zig-zag continues through several alternating bends; the notch-based arrangement remains included with its stated minimum angle.
