aesthetic screen

A barrier intended to improve or preserve views through concealment or through the appearance of the barrier itself.

An aesthetic screen is a wall, fence, berm, planting, or other object whose purpose is to preserve or enhance the visual aesthetics of the area(s) on one or both sides. The goal may be to prevent the visibility of unaesthetic places or objects from violating the area on the inner side, or the barrier itself may form an aesthetic object by virtue of its own design or because of plants growing on it. This usage is commonly applied to garden walls.

The screen can hide an unwanted view from an area. It can also provide the desired visual effect through its own design or planting.

A garden wall is a common example. The aesthetic purpose can benefit one or both sides and does not require a privacy function.
