shooting

A site especially designated for target shooting with guns using real ammunition, including pistol and rifle ranges.

A shooting range or other shooting facility is a place designated especially for target shooting with pistols, rifles, or other types of gun, using real ammunition.

The activity is shooting at targets with firearms. Pistols and rifles are examples, without limiting the venue to either type.

Real ammunition is part of the stated usage. A simulated shooting attraction or a target game using other equipment has a different meaning.
