Doors which automatically keep an area sealed in order to prevent the spread of smoke or fire.
Automatic fire doors are doors, gates, heavy screens, or other partitions which automatically close in the event of a fire, or which automatically close themselves when not in use, for the purpose of preventing the spread of fire and/or smoke.
The closure can be triggered by fire or occur whenever the opening is not in use. Both automatic arrangements are included.
Doors are one possible form; gates, heavy screens, and other partitions are also included when their automatic closing serves the fire or smoke barrier.
