A fishingport terminal is a landside facility where fishing products are taken from ships and often stored for distribution. It is usually in a port or harbor, and may be located by a sea, ocean, lake, river, canal, or other body of water.
The transfer from fishing vessels to land is the terminal activity. Holding the landed products for distribution can be part of the same facility.
The fishing traffic can use inland waterways as well as coastal waters. A lakeside or riverside landing facility is included when it performs this transfer.
