Agricultural commodity storage facilities are places where large amounts of unsorted, unpackaged, and relatively homogeneous products of agriculture are stored, usually at a transfer point in the distribution process. Commodities in this category include materials created through plant cultivation or animal raising, but do not include biofuels, forestry products, chemicals, or fertilizers.
The stored materials come from plant cultivation or animal raising and are held in bulk. Their origin distinguishes them from mineral and manufactured commodities.
The group excludes biofuels, forestry products, chemicals, and fertilizers. Being used on a farm does not by itself make a stored material an agricultural product.
