lamp store

A retail store primarily selling lamps or lighting appliances for indoor or outdoor use, excluding candle stores.

A lamp store is a retail establishment whose primary merchandise consists of lamps or other appliances used for illuminating indoor or outdoor spaces. These shops often include the actual bulbs that produce light, although the main product is usually the more elaborate fixture designed to hold the bulbs.

Lamps are usually electrically powered, but can also operate with oils or natural gases. If an antique shop sells mainly antique lamps, it should be classified as a lamp store. A candle store would not be classified in this category.

Electricity is the usual power source, while oil and natural gas lamps are also included. Antique lamps remain within the lamp-store specialization when they are the primary merchandise.
