chamber of commerce

Administrative offices of an organization promoting the collective interests of businesses, usually in a locality or region.

A chamber of commerce office is a space housing the administration of an organization designed to promote a group of businesses collectively, usually within a local or regional area. Individual businesses may belong to a chamber of commerce, which in turn represents their interests in the political or social sphere, but the chamber itself is not a commercial entity.

The office administers collective business interests. It is distinct from the commercial office of one member company conducting that company's own business.

A labor union office administers an organization representing workers. The represented group distinguishes it from a chamber representing businesses.
