Related terms: shisha bar
A leisure smoking establishment providing water pipes for smoking shisha, often with food or drinks.
A hookah lounge (or shisha bar) is a place where users come to smoke shisha or flavored smoke through a water pipe. It is usually a commercial establishment providing the pipes, mouthpieces, and shisha to customers. These typically feature a Middle Eastern ambience, reflecting the origin of the practice, with rugs and music from the Middle East.
Hookah lounges may also serve food and drinks.
Water-pipe smoking is the principal leisure activity. Food and drinks can accompany it without making the establishment simply a dining room where smoking happens to be permitted.
