volume of poured concrete
The volume of liquid concrete used in a structure's integral construction, excluding waste and precast parts.
The total volume of poured concrete used in a structure or module is the amount in cubic meters or cubic feet of poured concrete used in forming its structural framework and integral architectural components, such as floors, columns, beams, walls, cores, roofs, etc. This is more often published than the weight of structural concrete, and is measured in terms of liquid concrete delivered (excluding any wasted concrete). It does not count prefabricated concrete parts.
The quantity includes concrete placed in integral architectural components as well as the supporting frame. Concrete delivered but discarded contributes nothing to the volume used in the structure.
A precast component can be part of the finished structure without belonging in this poured-concrete total. This is a construction volume measured before curing, distinct from the mass of cured concrete.
