foot traffic

A structure or right-of-way designated for pedestrian travel along a route, such as a bridge or tunnel.

A foot traffic corridor is a structure or right-of-way designated for transportation of pedestrians. It is not normally assigned to buildings unless they are built expressly for sheltering or facilitating foot traffic along a regular route. This usage is normally assigned to structures such as bridges and tunnels where walking is clearly accommodated.

The facility supports walking as transportation along a regular route. Movement within an ordinary building does not normally establish this use.

A building can qualify when built expressly to shelter or facilitate that through route. A corridor's mere presence does not demonstrate that purpose.
