concrete plant

A facility where quarried aggregates and other ingredients are converted into concrete.

A concrete plant is an industrial facility which combines quarried aggregate, sand, cement, water, and other ingredients to form concrete, usually in a liquid or viscous form which is then distributed to construction sites in concrete mixers.

The plant combines the ingredients into concrete suitable for subsequent construction use. Producing cement alone is a different process because cement is one ingredient of the concrete mix.

The usual product leaves the site as a wet or viscous mixture for placement elsewhere. A facility casting that mixture into finished precast parts performs an additional forming operation.
