Manufactured commodity storage facilities are places where large amounts of unseparated, unpackaged, and homogeneous products formed by fabrication processes are stored, usually at a transfer point in the distribution process. These include synthetic substances as well as products refined from natural materials, excluding fuels and agricultural products.

Synthetic substances and materials refined from natural sources are included when held as bulk fabricated commodities. Individual finished packages are outside this bulk-storage meaning.

Fuel and agricultural products have separate storage definitions. A manufactured substance does not enter this group solely because its production involved industrial equipment.
