mineral wool batts

Thick flexible sheets or stuffed bags with a dense mass of fibers made from natural or synthetic minerals.

Mineral wool batts are sheets, pads, or bags of low- to high-density fibers made from metal oxides, ceramics, or synthetic minerals. Its appearance is similar to fiberglass or glass wool insulation, and it presents similar hazards to the eyes or respiratory system, thus requiring masks and goggles when installed, removed, or disturbed. It has a fairly high resistance to flames, but must be kept dry to remain effective and to avoid mold.
